ROCK BAND for Wii CONFIRMED!

During a conference call between IGN and Electronic Arts regarding EA’s quarterly earnings, CEO John Riccitiello slipped in a confirmation of a Wii edition of the critically acclaimed Harmonix developed Rock Band. IGN double checked with EA and got positive confirmation that a Wii SKU is indeed comming. Still no word on a release date or downloadable content plans, but at least we know that a Wii version is in the works.

I’m excited, for I’ve been holding out for a Wii version. Other than my PC, my Wii is the only other gaming platform that I own, well I got a DS as well, but I digress. I’ve been itching to play on those drums! Let’s just hope that it comes soon, and that a non “refrigerator” storage solution for DLC is worked out.

Of course, considering Nintendo’s track record thus far, that may be askin’ a bit much.
