A launch model Xbox360 owner named Nathaniel got the dreaded “red ring of death” on his one of a kind console, laden with autographs from members of Microsoft’s Xbox360 team, Bungie, and Rooster Teeth Productions, including a giant Master Chief portrait drawn by Luke McKay.

He wrote a letter to Microsoft asking that he get his exact same console back as that it had a quite obvious sentimental attachment to it, instead of getting a replacement. Well, he got his original console back alright, however Microsoft felt it necessary to remove all sentimental attachment from it by wiping the Xbox360 clean.
How lame is that?
There is hope for justice though, apparently Microsoft has contacted Nathaniel personally and are looking in to rectify this mess. It’s still super lame that this happened.
